Greenville residents receive title deeds

Garden Cities in partnership with the City of Cape Town has since 2016
registered more than 1 800 title deeds for
residents in the Greenville Housing Project, which include 322 title deeds
registered for the 2022/23 financial year. Title deeds empower residents as
property owners and are an investment for the beneficiaries and their families
The City's Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Malusi Booi, and other officials within the Human Settlements Directorate handed over an additional five title deeds to the most recent title deed beneficiaries of the Greenville Garden Cities housing development in Fisantekraal.
The Greenville housing project is a partnership between the City's Human Settlements Directorate, the Western Cape Government's Department of Human Settlements and developer Garden Cities.
'We are happy to celebrate with the new title deed beneficiaries who are now property owners. The City has been hard at work and we are committed to redress and to empowering residents across the metro. Over recent months, we have handed over title deeds in Delft, Atlantis, Khayelitsha, Manenberg and Macassar, among other areas.
'Since 2016, the City in partnership with Garden Cities registered 1 800 title deeds for the Greenville housing project alone and more than 300 for the 2022/23 financial year. We are proud of the progress and our work continues in all areas of the metro.
'The handover of title deeds will be ongoing subject to statutory approvals and we remind all beneficiaries to make sure their contact details are up to date as SMSes will be sent once they are ready for collection. The City looks forward to assisting more residents over the coming months,' said Councillor Booi.
